The Meet me at the Gate series features three drawings depicting Orotan Rock from different perspectives, located at Lilydale Station, 150 kilometres east of Burra. These works are dedicated to Colin Zanker, the Station Manager, who passed away on site during a goating operation. Colin introduced Denise to this rock during several excursions across the property while searching for goats to round up. His final words were, “Meet me at the gate”.

Porcupine Well

Photographic images of Manunda Creek in flood 2026, at Porcupine Well, (windmill) Pitcairn Station South Australia.

Manunda Creek, located in the Mid North of South Australia, experienced a significant flood in February 2026.

Pitcairn Station owners Ross and Gen Sawers, remarked, "Compared to all the typical 'bankers' in the Outback, this flood lasted over 12 hours straight, uprooting whole mature trees from their foundations in the creek, as if a team of graders had been through."

I acknowledge the Traditional custodians of this land, the Ngadjuri people of the Mid North whose ancestral lands we work on. The Nauo people of Eyre Peninsula, The Larrakia people of Darwin and the Djardwajali people of the Glenelg River.

I recognise the continuing connection to lands, waters and communities.

I pay respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and to Elders past, present and emerging.
